Lifestyle inflation (also called ‘lifestyle creep’) occurs when spending increases proportionally with income — leaving the savings rate stagnant or falling, despite rising income. This calculator projects future savings and wealth under two scenarios: current spending growth rate vs. a disciplined, lower spending growth rate. The gap between the two scenarios is the cost of lifestyle inflation.
